[poet, digital strategy consultant, educator]
Hey, I’m Tami. I’m born and raised in Houston, Texas, with an MFA in Poetry from New York University.
I’ve spent over a decade in advertising, developing campaigns and strategic initiatives across industries. Those years taught me how language drives perception—and how it can also obscure power, aspiration, and truth.
That same awareness fuels my poems, which move between boardrooms and backroads, humor and hurt, irony and intimacy.
In my forthcoming manuscript, race, place, and work is examined through a lens both critical and tender. Major themes in my work are grounded in my native Texas roots.
I also guest lecture at the university level, creating custom sessions that bring real-world case studies to the next generation of advertising students.
Across all of it—teaching, strategy, and poetry—I’m interested in how stories shape what we value and who we become.
